Dans ce séminaire, nous examinons Le Palais de mémoire de Matteo Ricci, un jésuite qui en 1577 est arrivé en Chine non seulement avec un solide bagage culturel mais aussi une technique mnémonique permettant de porter ses connaissances à travers la Chine, mais aussi d’enseigner une méthode de mémorisation et de proposer une nouvelle didactisation du chinois écrit. D’une part, notre analyse épistémologique se concentre sur les origines et les conséquences du métalangage utilisé par Ricci et ses conséquences didactiques. D’autre part, nous examinons ces concepts en utilisant une approche inspirée de la psychologie et de la linguistique cognitives.
